Position Summary



The Kindergarten-2nd Grade Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily management, supervision, and implementation of activities within the K-2 program area. This individual ensures a safe, positive, and engaging environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of young members in alignment with the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Supervise and actively engage with all Kindergarten-2nd grade members during program hours. Plan, organize, and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support academic enrichment, recreation, and social-emotional learning. Maintain a structured and nurturing environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and responsibility. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children through constant supervision and adherence to Club policies and procedures. Oversee and support program staff, volunteers, and youth leaders working in the K-2 area. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on behavior, participation, and any incidents. Manage transitions, attendance tracking, and sign-in/sign-out procedures for the K-2 group. Work collaboratively with other program supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent Club expectations. Implement and reinforce Boys & Girls Club behavioral management policies, addressing issues calmly and positively. Maintain clean, organized program areas and ensure all supplies and equipment are properly cared for. Support the inclusion of all children, including those with disabilities or special needs, following the Club's Disability and Inclusion Policy. Any additional duties that may be assigned by the Program /Area Directors.

Qualifications



Minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. At least one year of experience working with children ages 5-8 in an educational, childcare, or youth program setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage group dynamics and create a positive, inclusive environment. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire). Ability to pass background checks and meet all state licensing requirements.

Work Schedule



Typical school-day schedule:

2:00-6:00 pm

(afterschool).

School-closure/holiday camps:

up to 8:00 am-6:00 pm

in staggered shifts.

Schedule may vary based on program needs (early open, late close, field trips, snow-day, summer camps).

Physical Requirements



Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children. Lift up to 25 lbs as needed and remain on feet for extended periods.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
