Monona Grove School District has an anticipated opening for a 1.0 FTE Kindergarten Teacher at Winnequah School. Position begins August 22, 2023.

Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified Kindergarten Teacher.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an Elementary Teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
  • Monitor students\xe2\x80\x99 academic and behavioral progress (through embedded, observational data collection and analysis) to guide instructional decisions. Monitor and address IEP goals as necessary.
  • Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through multiple means of representation, engagement, and assessment supporting reciprocal learning strategies.
  • Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including special education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
  • Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
  • Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
  • Attend work regularly.
  • Perform other duties as directed by building administration.

  • Experience in teaching various content areas preferred.

  • Experience with play-based instruction preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS), Conscious Discipline, and/or Restorative Justice.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.
  • Ability to work positively and productively as an active member of a vibrant teaching team.

License Requirement:
  • Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Regular Education (1777) or Elementary/Middle Level Education (1088) license, or ability to obtain license upon hire required
    • Early Childhood or;
    • Early Childhood- Middle Childhood or;
    • Appropriate low and high grade levels
