Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Helper to join our veterinary clinic and pet care team. This role involves providing compassionate animal care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting veterinary staff with daily tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle various pet care responsibilities efficiently.

Duties

Assist with animal feeding, cleaning, and sanitation of kennels and treatment areas Handle dogs and other pets safely using proper animal restraint techniques Support veterinary technicians and assistants with routine procedures and treatments Provide pet grooming, pet sitting, and basic training as needed Monitor animals for health issues and report concerns to veterinary staff Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including laundry and equipment sanitation Engage with pets to provide comfort and reduce stress during their stay or treatment Assist with pet transportation within the facility when required Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols for animal handling and heavy lifting

Requirements

Prior experience in dog handling, kennel work, or veterinary assisting is preferred Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices Experience with pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary technician duties is a plus Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion for animals of all temperaments Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the day Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Basic knowledge of dog training or veterinary experience is advantageous Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards Flexibility to work weekends or holidays if needed; reliable transportation is required This position offers an opportunity to work in a caring environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
