Job Description

We are in search of a Kennel Attendant responsible in care taking of pets in our boarding facility. Key duties include feeding, watering, exercising, and loving animals, as well as cleaning and sanitizing their boarding areas. Attendants must also administer medications as directed and may interact with clients for drop-offs and pick-ups.

Animal care and maintenance

Feeding and watering:

Providing animals with food and fresh water according to their specific care plans.

Cleaning:

Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, runs, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment.

Exercise and enrichment:

Walking animals, playing with them, and ensuring they get enough physical activity.

Grooming:

Bathing.

Medication administration:

Safely administering medications or injections as instructed by a pet owner.

Record-keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of each animal's care, feeding, medication, and any incidents that occur.

Supervision:

Working under the supervision of a kennel lead and manager.

Physical and other requirements

Physical stamina:

The job requires physical fitness for tasks like lifting and moving animals or objects, and long hours on your feet.

Flexibility:

Some positions may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Patience and compassion:

The ability to handle stressful situations, work patiently with animals, and provide gentle care is essential.

Cleanliness:

A willingness to perform messy and smelly tasks is also necessary.
