Job Description

The K-3 Student Success Technician supports students by providing academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions to enhance classroom learning. They work closely with teachers to manage behaviors, assist with reading interventions, and implement multi-tiered systems of support. Using positive behavior strategies and restorative practices, they help create a supportive and engaging school environment.



Essential Functions (May include, but not limited to):



1. Collaborate with teachers to manage student behaviors and create a positive classroom environment.

2. Provide targeted behavioral, academic, and attendance interventions using a multitiered system of support (MTSS).

3. Assist with reading interventions as directed by the classroom teacher to support student learning.

4. Utilize Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) strategies to teach, engage, and redirect student behavior while fostering strong relationships.

5. Support a restorative school community by using affirmative language to reinforce expectations and provide appropriate student supports.

6. Prepare and maintain documentation, including reports, instructions, and memos, to track student progress and communicate effectively with staff.

7. Interact professionally and cooperatively with students, staff, parents, and the community to support a positive school culture.

8. Represent the district professionally by performing all job duties at a satisfactory or above level.

9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Associates degree required.

Experience:

Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an urban setting preferred.

Skills:

Ability to exhibit patience, and work effectively with children, adolescents, and staff members. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good listening and communication skills. Ability to make sound decisions. Ability to assist students with using computer programs.

Other requirements:



Must comply with the Student Safety Initiative Legislation, as amended. Newly hired staff are required to successfully complete the following pre-employment screenings: 1) Criminal background check, including national and local clearance.

Job Considerations:

Salary Schedule: $24.00 per hour, 30 hours per week, 183 days per year, no benefits Immediate Supervisor: Supervisor of Early Childhood

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Work Location: In person
