BBYC is seeking a qualified Junior Sailing Instructor for their 8 week summer program, from June 20nd 2026 through August 14th 2026.

Brant Beach Yacht Club, one of Long Beach Island's most active and vibrant waterfront communities, is seeking enthusiastic, skilled, and team-oriented Junior Sailing Instructors to join our 2026 summer staff. As a Junior Sailing Instructor, you'll help guide young sailors, support their development on and off the water, and be part of a passionate team committed to safety, growth, and memorable summer experiences.

What You'll Do

As a Junior Sailing Instructor, you will play an important role in delivering a safe, organized, and engaging sailing experience by:

Program Instruction & Support

Teaching beginner to intermediate sailors in accordance with BBYC's curriculum Supporting program growth, daily setup, and end-of-day breakdown Helping create a positive, supportive, and fun learning atmosphere
Safety & Operations

Ensuring that all safety procedures and protocols are understood and followed Operating safety boats in compliance with US Sailing and NJ boating standards Assisting with fleet maintenance and reporting equipment needs
Program Culture & Teamwork

Being a visible role model for sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsibility Collaborating with fellow instructors and the Sailing Director to deliver high-quality instruction Supporting on-site and off-site regattas, as needed
What We're Looking For

Enthusiastic individuals who are energized by teaching, team-focused, and committed to the safety and development of young sailors.

Required Qualifications

Prior sailing coaching or instructional experience Previous dinghy racing experience (Opti, C420, Laser/ILCA, Sunfish, etc.) US Sailing Level 1 Certification (minimum) CPR / First Aid certification NJ Boating Safety Certificate Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging attitude Enjoy working with children and fostering their confidence

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
