We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this entry-level role, you will play a vital part in supporting the estimating process for various construction projects, ensuring accurate cost assessments and competitive pricing. Duties

Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed project estimates by gathering and analyzing data related to materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create accurate and comprehensive bid proposals Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify project scope and requirements Support the negotiation process with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms Conduct site visits to gather firsthand information on existing conditions and project logistics Collaborate with project management teams to understand project timelines, budgets, and cost control measures Assist in developing bid packages, including scope of work, pricing, and contractual documents Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documentation, and correspondence for future reference Contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing past projects' costs and identifying opportunities for efficiency

Qualifications

Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and practices Familiarity with construction software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid or similar tools is highly desirable Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members Knowledge of construction site operations and construction management processes Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Willingness to learn about cost control strategies and project management methodologies Prior experience or internships in construction estimating or related fields is a plus but not required

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
