Junior DoD / USN Financial Analyst

Job summary: This position supports Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA) AN/USQ-82(V) Program Office.

Description: Support the program\xe2\x80\x99s Lead BFM in the planning, execution, and tracking of the Program\xe2\x80\x99s budget. This includes assisting with the development of budget planning documents (TPSs, 7300s, SERs, OPPs, and POM Issue Papers); generating funding documents in ERP, creating 7300s; and tracking commitments, obligations and expenditures. Additional tasking and potential growth opportunities are dependent on skill set.

Work Location: ELS WDC Office

Requirements:

  • Support SCN, RDT&E, O&MN and OPN appropriations execution support to the NAVSEA Warfare Modernization team.
  • Assist with the management of SCN funding with up to 27 hulls specific accounts.
  • Assist with the input, monitoring, validation, tracking and reporting of progress of financial documents through various Navy financial management systems including, but not limited to: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and NAVSEA Enterprise Planning System (NEPS)
  • Maintain current program planning and execution spreadsheets to include PR status from creation to acceptance by field activity and monitoring funding levels for active appropriations
  • Provide support in the development of Task Planning Sheets (TPSs) that clearly delineate all program contract/contractor, field activity related tasking, deliverable items, and schedules
  • Support overall day-to-day business/resource and program management efforts
  • Interact with government and contractor personnel to deliver complete programmatic briefings as needed
  • Prepare and submit packages in various formats on behalf of the Program Office in response to financial data calls
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Budget documents (7300s, TPSs, SERs, OPPs, POM Issue Papers
  • Funding appropriations (SCN, OPN, OMN, FMS, and RDTE)
  • Active access to Navy ERP, PBIS, COBRA, EDW or Navy financial experience;
  • Knowledge with Navy procedures and Policies (DoD/SECNAV 5000 process); preparing financial planning documentation; developing, executing, tracking, and reporting financial execution documentation
  • The ideal candidate will be capable to review financial data and make recommendations to the Program Office on how best to utilize funds in accordance with DoD Acquisition Policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; or 5 years of professional experience supporting the DoD
  • Organized, reliable, and effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong M/S Office Skills, particularly in Excel
  • This person will be required to work in a group setting and interface directly with the various government customers, industry stakeholders and other team members
  • Funding appropriations (SCN, OPN, OMN, FMS, and RDTE)
  • Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Executing and amending 1400s in ERP
  • Running reports in ERP
  • NAVSEA Enterprise Planning System (NEPS)
Travel: 2-4 times per year (CONUS)

Work Status: Full Time

Salary: $55,000- $70,000 depending on qualifications
