The City of Wagoner, Wagoner Public Works Authority is looking for an experienced
Journeymanor Apprentice Electrical Line Worker.
An Apprentice Electrical Line Worker's principle duty include learning prerequisite skill and knowledge for becoming a Journeyman Lineman. As an Apprentice, you will be required to attend and successfully complete the Apprenticeship Program, which includes formal training and assessments. You will also be required to achieve a set of on-the-job training objectives. During the Apprenticeship Program, employees must pass training courses that include but are not limited to the following:
-Climbing utility poles
-Basic Electricity and protective grounding principles
-Basic rigging and other physical skill requirements
-Ability to obtain a CDL within one year of employment
-Ability to work in all weather conditions
-Overtime as required including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
Duties consist of construction, maintenance and repair of electrical power and light distribution lines overhead and underground, primary secondary, metering, street lighting and street light circuitry, related facilities; and perform other specifically related work as required. Safety is a shared responsibility of all employees; therefore, employees are required to follow all safety standards, policies, and procedures set forth by the Company in addition to complying with all occupational safety, health and environmental laws mandated by relevant local, state, and federal laws or regulations.
Qualifications and requirements: Residence within 30 minutes of the City of Wagoner, CDL A or B strongly preferred but not required.
