What You Will Do
A Journeyman Technician possesses a valid journeyman\'s license and works from schematics and diagrams to wire and install electrical components, switch gear, electrical switches and electronic instruments and devices, such as: programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data loggers, relays, breakers and other electronic instrumentation equipment. They troubleshoot and diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and make necessary repairs. Conduct electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.

Individuals who willing to use their journeyman\'s expertise to lead and mentor the next generation of electricians. We assume that you have the code knowledge and technical proficiency to fulfill electrician duties, but we are most importantly looking to find floor leaders who can drive final assembly teams to meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety.

Experience and Skills:

Requirements You Need to Have

  • Must possess a valid Utah Journeyman\'s Electrician License or one from a state that is reciprocal with Utah. (Note: This typically involves at least 4 years of accredited electrical apprenticeship education, and at least 8000 hours of OJT experience, along with passing a final journeyman\'s exam).
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and layout diagrams.
  • Strong grasp of electrical theory, NEC and other applicable code, and best practice installation techniques for a variety of industrial electrical components and equipment.
  • Experience with various hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, electrical testing equipment, conduit benders, threaders, and other specialized equipment applicable to electrician work.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Confident with the ability to work closely with and lead/mentor other electricians and apprentices while keeping production flowing and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results in electrical assemblies, wiring, and troubleshooting through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems during the early planning and design review stages.
  • Must be detailed oriented and committed to producing quality work
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers, supervisors, management, etc.
