Position Overview

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced

Journeyman Carpenter

to lead and manage commercial construction crews throughout the Greater Cleveland area. This full-time position is ideal for a dependable leader with at least 5 years of crew leadership experience and proven expertise in metal stud framing, acoustic ceiling systems, and drywall hanging (finishing not required). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, maintain job site efficiency, and uphold high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate teams of 5-15 carpenters and laborers on commercial construction projects. Perform and oversee metal stud framing, T-bar ceiling installation, and drywall hanging. Interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure work aligns with design intent. Ensure adherence to project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, subcontractors, and crew members. Monitor site conditions to maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience leading commercial construction crews. Hands-on proficiency in framing, ceiling systems, and drywall installation. Ability to oversee job site operations, including labor coordination, material management, and workflow planning. Must pass a 5-panel drug screen and criminal background check. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Possession of standard hand tools and basic personal protective equipment (PPE); additional PPE provided if needed. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred (company-sponsored training available).

Additional Details

Standard schedule: 40 hours per week, with potential overtime based on project demand. Projects are located within a 60-mile radius of downtown Cleveland. Long-term career opportunities available for reliable and skilled carpenters with leadership capabilities.
