Journeyman Carpenter
We seek a talented individual who can perform quality Set builds and uphold the high standers expected from our audience for our production department at Florida Repertory Theatre. About Us: At Florida Rep, we provide a first-class regional theatre for southwest Florida; to creating, nurturing, and developing an ensemble of theatre professionals who will develop long-term relationships working on a wide variety of plays; to help improve the quality of life in our community through all the arts\xe2\x80\xa6 About the Role: The Journeyman Carpenter helps support every production by building sets following the designer\xe2\x80\x99s vision under the guidance of the shop foreman and TD while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment. The duties of the Journeyman Carpenter include but are not limited to the following:
- Builds all sets and special projects and helps with scenic elements
- Helps maintain all shop equipment
- Works all load-ins and load-outs for the shows
- Maintains compliance with all safety standards
- General maintenance on any show elements that need attending to
- Other duties as assigned
- Carpentry
- Welding
- Problem-solve under pressure
- Manual Dexterity and ability to work at heights over 20\xe2\x80\x99 (able to lift to 50lbs)
- Skills with:
- CNC
- Power tools
- Can read a build plot
- Can stay on schedule
- Year Around; 35 to 75 hours a week, averaging 40 hours a week for the year
- $800 a week salary
- two weeks of PTO
- Health Insurance Option
- Supplemented housing may be available based on the availability
