General Description of Duties:
As a Job Developer you will work with the business community to develop and implement job development strategies to secure community-based employment appropriate for the participants. Assists clients with job development services including, but not limited to
Contacts businesses in the community to develop employment sites.
Negotiates with employers for details concerning employment opportunities.
Builds positive relationships with key management, supervisory and co-worker personnel at employment sites to promote normalized integration of the client the company environment.
Develops and assists in the implementation of training plans for each client.
Assists clients in developing resumes, completing applications and attending interviews.
Participates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to develop client budgets, goals/objectives, transportation supports and job development strategies.
Completes all required/necessary reports and documentation for pre-placement services, specific job site placement, post employment, etc.
Attends staff meetings, parent meetings, in-services, etc. as appropriate to ensure that the needs of the clients and department are being met.
Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
Two years' job related experience in job development, job services or staffing services strongly preferred.
One (1) year experience training individuals with disabilities preferred.
Experience working with disabled population preferred.
Must have experience working with various software (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel etc.).
English Language reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
Other Requirements:
Must pass background/fingerprint investigation, TB test and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM driver's license, proof of auto liability insurance, have own reliable transportation and an agency insurable driving record. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder(s), and kneel frequently. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, crouch, balance, push/pull, and carry occasionally. Must be able to meet any requirement to do the job that the clients are being trained to perform. Physical requirements may vary depending on the job assignment. Must be able to sit, and perform computer tasks continuously as required to perform the essential duties of position. Must be able to work outside normal work schedule (i.e. evenings, weekends, etc.) as required. Adelante is a drug free workplace. PRN 20 hours a week Monday thru Friday Hours may vary Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Pay: From $19.50 per hour.
