The Job Coach at Opportunity Village provides essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in community-based jobs. This role includes job coaching, on-the-job training, and ongoing follow-up services to ensure success and job retention. The Job Coach works closely with both individuals and employers to facilitate job integration and skill development through personalized coaching, helping individuals meet workplace expectations and thrive in their roles.


In this role, the Job Coach is dedicated to empowering individuals, encouraging personal growth, and ensuring they can thrive in their jobs, providing both practical support and advocacy to foster an inclusive, supportive work environment. The Job Coach also monitors job performance, addresses challenges, and ensures compliance with Opportunity Village policies and relevant regulations, while fostering long-term success in each individual's chosen employment setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. Deliver follow-along services to ensure long-term job success, making necessary adjustments to training and support strategies. Advocate for individuals at their workplaces, ensuring that necessary accommodations and modifications are in place. Work with individuals at their workplaces to provide guidance, feedback, and insights on completing job tasks more effectively and efficiently, ensuring alignment with employer expectations. Responsible for maintaining professional positive relationships with community referral sources and area businesses to maintain existing lines of business. Build and maintain professional relationships with community employers, acting as a liaison between the business and the individual to promote success. Collaborate with BVR, DRC, and other stakeholders to ensure that each individual's employment goals are met. Participates in all required meetings with the individual's DRC Service Coordinator and support team. Prepares any needed documentation as required by DRC. Prepares all necessary documentation, including but not limited to departmental reports; interdisciplinary (ID) notes; incident reports; job coach monthly reports; mileage reimbursement requests, and submits within required timeframes. Ensures all required documentation is properly located in each individual's electronic file. Requests updated documentation from DRC at least yearly to ensure the individuals' files are current and as up to date as possible. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while assisting with coordination and communication with governing agencies (e.g., Adult Protective Services, local law enforcement, etc.) Travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area. Must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel: Between worksite locations Within the community Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law. Adhere to Opportunity Village's established policies and procedures. May be assigned other duties as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES




This position does not directly supervise OV team members but will guide and mentor participants within the program.


SKILLS REQUIRED



Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written). Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand others' reactions and behaviors. Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with individuals with disabilities, their families, and employers. Proficiency in providing personalized coaching and mentorship to support skill development and job success. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify challenges and develop effective solutions in the workplace. Ability to advocate for individuals' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate support and accommodations. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively. Ability to accept and apply performance-based feedback. Flexibility to adjust coaching strategies based on individual needs and changing workplace environments. Understanding of best practices in job coaching, as well as relevant federal and state employment regulations. Ability to resolve multiple complex issues simultaneously while remaining calm in stressful situations. Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying abilities, applying patience, professionalism, and a supportive approach in all coaching interactions.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Required: Minimum one (1) year work experience with case management, assessment, and analysis, preferably in behavioral health or with intellectual disabilities. Required: ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) Basic Employment Services certification within 90 days of employment. Required: Must be 21 years of age or older. Required: Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Required: Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment Required: Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
