Job Description

We are seeking a Janitor/Custodian professional to join our team. You will have primary responsibility for the cleanliness of your assigned areas at our headquarters in Springfield, Illinois.


On a daily basis, you will dust, wash, scrub and vacuum assigned areas such as office space, bathrooms, kitchens, break rooms, common areas, health club, conference rooms, stairwells, and windows. You will collect and empty trash. You will wash windows inside and outside. You will handle a floor stripper/buffer machine and other floor cleaning equipment. You will carry cleaning equipment up and down stairs. You will run dishwashers, washing machines and dryers. You will clean refrigerators, microwaves, and other appliances.


Core working hours are Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required. Compensation consists of a base salary, paid overtime, and full benefits.

Requirements:

Two years' experience working in a custodian/janitor role. You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA. You must be able to work 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. You must be able to lift a bucket or other items weighing up to 40 pounds, and you must have the ability to perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, twisting, climbing, etc.

Organization Structure and Interfaces:

LRS Maintenance provides quality cleaning services, grounds maintenance, and facility maintenance for the five buildings at the LRS headquarters complex along with several peripheral facilities. The maintenance staff also provides similar assistance at other LRS offices when needed. The maintenance group has six employees. A maintenance supervisor oversees the staff and the supervisor reports directly to the Senior Vice-President of Corporate Administration. Three of the staff members focus on the general cleaning duties and the other three staff members provide the general remodeling, carpentry, and maintenance duties for the facilities.

Salary range:

$16.50 - $17.50 per hour. This salary range represents the low and high end for this position. The salary will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of LRS' total compensation package for employees.
