Looking for a self starter to join our dynamic team as a Janitor/Cleaner, where your energetic approach to maintaining a spotless and organized environment will keep our facility running smoothly. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for ensuring all shipping areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, supporting efficient operations and fostering a positive workspace. Your attention to detail and proactive attitude will help uphold our high standards of cleanliness and safety across the shipping department.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive cleaning of shipping docks, loading areas, storage spaces, and surrounding facilities to ensure a pristine environment. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors regularly. Handle trash removal and recycling processes efficiently to keep workspaces tidy and compliant with safety standards. Conduct routine custodial tasks such as dusting surfaces, cleaning windows, restocking supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas. Maintain equipment used for cleaning and custodial tasks, reporting any issues or repairs needed promptly. Assist with light maintenance duties related to facilities upkeep, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues to maintenance teams. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or hazards in busy shipping zones. Support other team members with general porter duties as needed, contributing to a collaborative work environment focused on efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles, preferably within industrial or commercial settings such as shipping or warehouse environments. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks and basic repair procedures is a plus. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety guidelines. Excellent attention to detail to ensure every area meets cleanliness standards consistently. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform cleaning tasks throughout shifts. Prior experience in industrial cleaning or portering roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
