Work in a place where your team values you. The Vermont Agency of Digital Services is looking for an experienced individual with Natural and COBOL experience to help us support our partner agency\'s mission of providing for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

Our team is responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of the Agency of Transportation\'s mainframe applications. This position requires creating and modifying MVS JCL, monitoring and resolving problems with batch processing, experience with NATURAL and COBOL for program maintenance, and experience applying concepts of the software development life cycle including system design, analysis, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation. Mandatory Skills/Experience

  • Working knowledge in programming in application languages NATURAL and COBOL in batch and real-time CICS online environments
  • Working knowledge of MVS JCL, CICS, and TSO
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Working knowledge of Mainframe API
  • Working knowledge of ASSEMBLER programming language
Hourly rates within the Classified Bargaining Unit Pay Plan will change effective July 2, 2023. At that time, the starting rate (Step 1) for this job opening will be $26.95 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is significant interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in computer science

OR

Associate\'s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

OR

Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
