Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $79,188 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities include:
Implement strategic plans for information technology system and design infrastructure; provide operational input on plans and designs to senior staff.
Maintain a strong knowledge of project requirements, implementation methods, and information technology systems and tools.
Advise senior staff on operational and architectural constraints, including project timelines, resources, scope, and potential risks.
Support senior staff in risk analysis and threat mitigation activities, providing technical guidance to lead participants with a focus on security architecture.
Provide input, data, and analysis on standards for the information technology database structure for the enterprise and/or at the organization level.
Assist with development of methods and practices for architecture strategy development, communication, and visualization; implements methods and practices at the enterprise or organization level.
Support leadership with the selection of technology tools, systems, or vendors related to processing, data storage, data access, applications development, and other operational information technology elements, while offering technical leadership alongside the senior architect. Demonstrate a deep understanding of business needs and contribute to creating blueprints for robust, scalable, and secure information technology solutions.
Provide input, data, and analysis to support IT architectural decision-making impacting one or more organizations in the state enterprise.
Provide input, data, and analysis to support IT architectural standard development and assess the impact of those standards on budget constraints, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Provide input, data, and analysis to senior/enterprise architects regarding the development and prioritization of IT projects, with an emphasis on aligning project delivery with technology priorities.

What You'll Need for Success:

Credentials:
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, or
Associate's degree with 4-5+ years of experience,
7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.
Additional qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations.
Thorough knowledge of IT policies, procedures, standards, and techniques used in the development of enterprise/network architecture and/or operational IT/security.
Knowledge of the documentation of IT/security strategy, policy, and procedures, with emphasis on identifying best practices and making recommendations.
Experience with/knowledge of business drivers, operational needs, and architectural goals used to develop clear, comprehensive data, technical, and/or product architecture.
Experience managing or working with projects or processes featuring competing deadlines, resources, or other constraints.
Experience providing guidance to senior staff on cost, budget, or other operational impacts related to IT mission.
Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with emphasis on successful communication and customer service.
Ability to provide input, data, and analysis to senior staff in the development and/or implementation of architectural, operational, and compliance standards.
Knowledge of current and emerging information technology and security standards.
Ability to research and document findings.
Effective communication skills, with emphasis on providing customer service and guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Effective problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
