A UI Architect for FIOS Suite modernization must combine deep technical skills in microfrontends and modern UI, with strong architectural vision, migration planning, and leadership to deliver a scalable, maintainable, and converged user experience.

UI Architect Requirements for FIOS Suite Modernization
1. Technical Expertise

  • Deep experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of microfrontend patterns (Module Federation, Web Components, etc.)
  • Experience with legacy UI migration and integration strategies
  • Familiarity with shared UI libraries
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend-for-frontend (BFF) patterns
  • Should have expertise in material ui
2. Solution Architecture
  • Define tperson overall microfrontend architecture (routing, personll/container, communication)
  • Design a strategy for incremental migration of legacy screens to microfrontends
  • Establish standards for UI consistency, theming, and branding across microfrontends
  • Plan for shared authentication, authorization, and session management
3. Integration & Interoperability
  • Enable seamless integration of new microfrontends with existing legacy modules during transition
  • Define contracts for inter-microfrontend communication (events, shared state, APIs)
  • Ensure backward compatibility and minimal disruption to business users
4. DevOps & CI/CD
  • Architect build and deployment pipelines for independent microfrontend teams
  • Enable independent development, testing, and deployment of microfrontends
  • Plan for versioning, rollback, and hot-reload capabilities
5. Performance & Scalability
  • Optimize for fast load times (code splitting, lazy loading, CDN usage)
  • Ensure scalability for large user bases and high concurrency
  • Plan for monitoring, logging, and error tracking in distributed UI
6. Security & Compliance
  • Enforce secure coding practices (XSS, CSRF, CORS, etc.)
  • Ensure secure communication between microfrontends and backend services
  • Comply with accessibility and regulatory standards
7. User Experience
  • Drive a unified, intuitive, and responsive user experience across all modules
  • Plan for mobile/responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Enable user personalization and role-based UI rendering
8. Documentation & Governance
  • Document architecture, design patterns, and migration guidelines
  • Define coding standards, review processes, and UI governance
  • Mentor and guide UI/UX and frontend teams
9. Stakeholder Communication
  • Collaborate with business, product owners, and backend architects
  • Present modernization roadmap, risks, and progress to leadership
