Duties
  • You will serve as the Information Technology (IT) Project Manager providing oversight and on-site Subject Matter Expert (SME) technical support of NAVWAR C4ISR installations on afloat platforms.
  • You will apply a wide range of technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques, and practices in an area of IT installation specialization.
  • You will provide onsite expert level technical support to existing equipment, installation and conversion of new equipment, and logistical support to the Local Navy Authority and prime government contractors.
  • You will participate and lead the development of designs, plans, and solutions to ensure viable options are proposed for equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • You will perform IT installation, operation, and testing duties; employ unique and specially designed precision tools and instruments.
  • You will install one-of-a-kind equipment, custom equipment, developmental equipment, or equipment which is continually being modified and adapted and does not usually have adequate documentation.
  • You will develop and provide technical input to plans and solutions for IT system installation, integration and interoperability, risk management and mitigation, work estimates, and work schedules.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 802 level Basic within 6 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate complex integrated network-centric system installations, and strong capability to oversee and manage project costs, schedules, and performance. Additionally, your resume must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below: * Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
