JOB PURPOSE:




The Information Technology (IT) Manager is a hands-on technical expert and a strategic leader responsible for managing and enhancing the full technology stack of a multi-site, multi-concept restaurant group. This role directly handles Tier 3 escalations, complex troubleshooting, advanced infrastructure work, and project implementation, while also driving strategic planning, cybersecurity, and long-term IT roadmap development.


This position requires someone who is equally comfortable doing hands-on work onsite as they are discussing IT strategically with leadership.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:







Strategic Leadership



Develop and execute the company's multi-year IT roadmap, aligning with business goals, PCI DSS compliance, and operational priorities. Partner with executive leadership to evaluate technology investments, manage IT budgets, and forecast future needs. Lead initiatives to shift the IT function from reactive support to proactive, preventative management through automation and process improvement.

Hands-On Technical Responsibilities (Tier 3 & Infrastructure)



Serve as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues across networking, systems, security, servers, POS, and cloud environments. Lead hands-on deployment, configuration, and optimization of: + Fortinet firewalls, switches, APs, VPNs, and segmented PCI networks.
+ Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, and identity/security configurations.
+ Restaurant POS systems (Toast) and integrated hospitality platforms (PeopleVine, Paylocity, OpenTable, etc.).
Manage and configure devices through Intune and Mosyle MDM platforms. Oversee physical infrastructure work including network equipment installation, cabling coordination, and on-site support at restaurant locations.

Project Management & Implementation



Lead end-to-end IT projects including system upgrades, hardware rollouts, vendor platform deployments, and automation initiatives. Coordinate timelines, milestones, budgets, testing, and change management activities. Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, HR, Finance, and venue leadership to ensure successful implementation. Translate business needs into technical solutions with clear deliverables and documentation.

Security & Compliance



Serve as the organization's primary lead for PCI DSS compliance and cybersecurity initiatives. Conduct targeted risk analysis Implement and monitor network access controls, encryption, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention policies. Manage third-party vendor attestations, vulnerability scans, and annual SAQ submissions. Conduct Targeted Risk Analyses (TRA) and maintain documentation for PCI DSS v4.0 requirements.

Operational Excellence



Oversee daily IT operations, ticket management, and on-site support for 120-140 email enabled users across multiple locations. Supervise IT staff, providing mentorship and structured growth opportunities. Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, disaster recovery plans, and knowledge bases in SharePoint Online ("The Insider").

Innovation & Enablement



Identify opportunities to enhance guest and employee experience through technology (automation, integrations, reporting dashboards). Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to optimize workflows through Power Automate, Power BI, and connected cloud systems. Lead the evaluation and rollout of new hardware and software across the organization, balancing cost efficiency and reliability.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Highly organized and self-directed. Able to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation and written communication skills. Excellent project and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Demonstrated strong performance in analytical, innovative, and critical thinking, strategy, and collaboration. Ability to lead people and manage the work of the team.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



At least five years' progressive IT experience. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Cybersecurity, Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune, and Windows client management. Proven experience managing multi-site environments. Understanding of PCI DSS and IT governance best practices. Experience leading IT team members. Valid driver's license.

Preferred:



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Familiarity with PowerShell scripting, automation flows, and API integrations. Experience managing hybrid Mac/Windows environments and iOS kiosk deployments. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interface with both executives and front-line staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

:

Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to lift, move, or carry POS terminals, printers, networking equipment, and other technology devices weighing up to 40 lbs. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, or reach into tight or low-clearance areas (e.g., under counters, back office spaces, equipment closets) to install or service hardware. Ability to safely climb a step stool or small ladder to access ceiling drops, cabling, or mounted equipment. Adequate vision to read screens, wiring details, device labels, and technical documentation, with or without corrective lenses. Ability to travel frequently between restaurant locations, sometimes on short notice, including potential evening or weekend visits for urgent issues. Ability to work in varying restaurant environments (hot kitchens, cooler storage areas, crowded front-of-house spaces) while completing technical tasks. * Ability to respond to after-hours system outages or emergencies as required to support restaurant operations.
