THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The role is responsible for administration, and development of solutions on Databricks platform in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment. The role supports data engineers and data scientists to deliver scalable robust innovative technical solutions. This position is responsible for the delivery of projects involved in building real-time data pipelines and developing machine learning solutions for analytics on our big data GCP platform to enhance guest experience.

YOU\'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

• Design and implement frameworks and data pipelines for large-scale data processing on Databricks that will power data science capabilities across the enterprise.
• Develop MLOps frameworks which will enable model development, training, deployment, and monitoring.

• Configure and manage Databricks clusters ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
• Manages user provisioning and access controls within the Databricks environment.

• Monitor cluster health, performance metrics, and resource consumption. Scale clusters based on workload demands.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity, and performance bottlenecks.

• Manage Databricks workspaces, including creating notebooks, folders, and organizing resources for different teams and projects.
• Implement version control and collaboration workflows to facilitate team collaboration on notebooks and code.

• Ensure data security and compliance with industry regulations by setting up encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms.

• Identify and implement performance-tuning strategies, such as partitioning, indexing, and caching.

• Develop monitoring dashboards and alerts to track the health, usage, and performance of the Databricks environment.
• Generate regular reports on platform utilization, user activity, and resource allocation.

• Collaborates with cross-functional technologists and business partners across the organization to gather requirements, solve new problems and deliver quality results.
• Design efficient and scalable data processing systems and pipelines on Databricks, APIs, and GCP Services
• Serve as a Databricks expert and drive the implementation of Databricks platform ensuring that it adheres to our standards and expectations.

• Collaborate with Data and Platform architects on the team in defining and managing the product roadmap for our Databricks-based data science and advanced analytics platform.
• Provides user training and data coaching to enable effective data access and analysis using the Databricks platform.
• Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and security policies in all Databricks usage and processes.

• Mentors other team members on ML best practices.
• Supports the operations of the deployed solutions, investigates complex issues and assists with the resolution and implementation of preventive measures.

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
• 7+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years of experience in Databricks platform development & administration, Spark and cloud experience in AWS, Azure or GCP cloud (GCP preferred).

• In-depth understanding of Big Data ecosystems underlying architectures to re-platform legacy systems and build integration solutions on Google Cloud platform.
• Experience in design and development of machine learning pipelines to process structured and unstructured data streams.
• Hands on experience developing complex services/solutions on Databricks Platform.
• Expertise in Java, Python or any scripting language, SQL/NoSQL Database systems.
• Experience in Big Data tools and technologies such as Big Query, Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka Streams
• Have a passion for new technologies, continuous improvement and actively involved with the team to design new data solutions, monitoring and alerting policies for data solutions.
• Experience in test automations ensuring data quality, continuous integrations build and deployment processes using Docker, GitHub, Jenkins and Unix/Linux shell scripts.
• Proactive and able to own and lead large project initiatives.
• Possess a strong work ethic; takes pride in producing a quality product and a strong team player
• Work with production support and mentor consultants in an onshore / offshore model
• Support off-hours production issues and code deployments as needed.
• Minimal travel required.
