This is a senior IT leadership role with overall accountability for the technical delivery capability within Brinks Company including Architecture, Data Management, Data Science, Analytics Management and IT Innovation. This role will translate and guide execution of business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the enterprise architecture. Based on an enterprise architecture framework, this role will provide direction for solution design, prototyping, configuration and software engineering. This role owns and governs the technology architecture roadmap of the enterprise ensuring it is re-usable, scalable and cost conscious whilst meeting the needs of the business and ensuring alignment with the defined value streams and underlying products. The role holder will develop and own a 'rule book' which defines 'must-do's' for all autonomous agile teams, as well as projects, and drives technology and partner selection. As such, the role provides strategic direction to the enterprise on both product and sourcing decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Outline the Global target state architecture and by region and trigger long-term planning Drive the evolution of the EA teams services and operating model Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes The role holder also owns the data & analytics and innovation strategy for the enterprise and is responsible for designing, building and governing the data capability (people, process, technology) required to create an insights driven organization. The role holder is responsible for running architecture governance board that enables continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) mindset. Working together with the VP of Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Regional IT Leaders, this role will partner to streamline the deployment of technology into the business, optimizing time to market whilst minimizing failure rates of new releases.

Accountabilities:

Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture

Enterprise Architecture

: develop and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that is aligned with the overall objectives of the Brinks BBS Strategy, Global IT and Digital Strategy

Solution Architecture and Technology Roadmaps

: develop and maintain technology roadmaps which highlight how the overall objectives of the Brinks Company will be reached. Design the solution architecture to achieve each step of the technology roadmap

Rule Book

: develop and maintain an architecture rule book which defines architecture standards. Develop processes to ensure the rule book is successfully implemented in projects with partners and agile teams.

Infrastructure and Security

: Actively support the Head of Infrastructure and Information Security & Compliance Leader with their specific architectural requirements.

Lead

: a team of senior architects (enterprise and solution), software engineers (low code) and data engineers. Facilitate a transition to DevOps: 'you build it, you own it' for the selected products, to enable CICD

Collaborate

: work closely with the VP Enterprise Applications, VP Regional IT Leads, Information Security & Compliance Leader and VP Planning & Portfolio Management as well as selected business stakeholders and partners to ensure the successful implementation of the architecture rule book

Emerging technology

: Identify future technology and digital trends and innovation to deliver best in class customer experiences that balance value creation with cost optimization and which are in line with the overall 5 year plan and the digital strategy

Own

the Technology Strategy and data and analytics strategy and architecture roadmap leveraging modern architecture practices such as microservices, API economy and move to cloud.

Orchestrates the Delivery of Business Outcomes

Develops the Business Architecture by positioning the EA practice at the intersection of business and IT. Ensures that the EA practice is designed and enabled to formulate, translate and execute business strategy. Works with business architects and business leaders to identify key drivers and targeted business outcomes to derive useful business context. Develops diagnostic and action-oriented deliverables that help guide investment decisions in support of executing business strategy. Brings Alignment Across Business and IT by leading analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical gaps and opportunities and recommend solutions for improvement to drive the business towards its targeted outcomes. Identifies organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture. Works with the CIO and IT leaders to find the right EA organizational design to drive business-outcomes. This may include being part of fusion teams and supporting federated initiatives. Ensures that the EA organizational design process leads to a more efficient and effective business and IT operating model, significantly improved results (e.g., profitability, customer service, internal operations), and EA resources empowered and committed to the integration of business and IT.

Connects Strategy to Execution

Facilitates business and IT alignment, connecting strategy to execution, through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner, driving the organization's digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth. Translates and guides execution of business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the enterprise architecture. Constructs technology-enabled business and operating models and provides viable options and visibility into execution issues.

Supports Portfolio Modernization and Develops Roadmaps

Maintains the alignment, integration and coordination of architecture activities across different programs, projects and products as they evolve over time. Presents gap analyses and/or IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing IT landscape, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms. Leads analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Leads the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and the varying IT strategies for project-driven or product-driven delivery teams.

Supports Solutions Design and Delivery

Maintains the alignment, integration and coordination of architecture activities across different programs, projects and products as they evolve over time. Presents gap analyses and/or IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing IT landscape, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms. Leads analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Leads the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and the varying IT strategies for project-driven or product-driven delivery teams. Develops and applies minimal viable architectures, which can include a set of standards, reference architecture patterns, principles and guardrails, through the EA governance model, which is informed by the business strategy and corporate governance. Clarifies accountability and provides the focal point for agile, effective and efficient decision making. Facilitates a collaborative relationship across architecture community, product management and product delivery teams by providing freedom-in-a-box for decision making, with the minimal viable architecture forming the boundaries of the box. Collaborates with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact speed to value and time to market. Collaborates with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.

Facilitates Innovation

Collects, Analyzes, Reviews and Refines Innovations, Trends, Disruptions, Opportunities or Ideas Assesses disruptive forces affecting the organization and identifies technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enables business strategy. Contextualizes trends based on technological, political, economic, social/cultural, trust/ethics, regulatory/legal, and environmental (TPESTRE) trends to enhance their strategic decision making. Scans emerging technologies and the business ecosystem for major disruptive technology and nontechnology trends (trendspotting) that affect business. Provides practical advice and best practices to take advantage of new, or emerging, opportunities and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes. Develops, Tracks and Manages Execution of Innovations, Trends, Disruptions, Opportunities or Ideas Details potential competitive threats from digital enterprises that are generally considered outside of your traditional realm of competition. Tracks and applies innovative technologies, anchoring them in the business and operating model to assess their potential, and uses agile and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation. Runs pilots to create new products and services and integrate the best of these into steady-state operations for the organization.

Data & Analytics Management

Accountable for the data and analytics strategy and roadmap that enables data to become an enterprise-wide asset driving revenue growth and cost optimization Develop a data sourcing strategy considering both internal and external sources of data required to enable the enterprise digital strategy Oversee the design and development of data & analytics management infrastructure that will deliver enterprise wide data analysis and insight to the enterprise Lead the development and enforcement of policies and guidelines for data & analytics management and data & analytics governance Work in close collaboration with the IT Leadership Team team to identify opportunities and requirements for the successful usage of data Create a data science Centre of Excellence (CoE) and analytics COE which will develop advanced analytics capabilities, models and algorithms to drive decision making across the organization and support the CoE in defining a data science roadmap

Credentials and Experience

Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience. Eight or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant. * 8+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solutions, technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.
