The Engineering team at Favor supports Favor\'s mission to bring fast, fresh delivery to Texans far and wide. The Favor technology platform is the engine behind the business that enables our Runners (that\'s what we call our delivery drivers) to deliver millions of Favors. Our technology efficiently manages the real-time assignment of Favors, facilitates communication between customers, Runners, and support, keeps mobile applications in sync, and more.

As a Staff Software Engineer at Favor you will be responsible for all phases of development, testing, and deployment of our native iOS applications. You will work closely with our Product and Operations teams to understand customer needs, build simple solutions to complex problems, and deliver delightful experiences to all our users.

What you\'ll do:

• Work on mission-critical mobile apps our customers and Runners depend on
• Create a vision for the future of our apps and work with your team to see it become a reality
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to solve the hardest problems our customers face
• Keep projects on track and communicate with stakeholders throughout implementation
• Level up your team through mentorship, guidance, and new technologies
• Make sure our apps stay up to date with the latest best practices and technologies to prepare for the future

Skills you have:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• The wisdom to strike a balance between business needs and engineering excellence
• Advanced understanding of software design patterns to write clean, well-structured, idiomatic code that fully leverages the power of a language
• Experience working on a platform of shared libraries that support our apps
• Strong understanding of various mobile testing strategies
• Ability to gather and define software requirements that consider multiple patterns and strategies in order to build efficient solutions
• Extensive work with backend teams to define mobile contracts with REST API best practices, API versioning strategies, and security best practices
• Ability to communicate difficult technical concepts in precise, concise, and unambiguous terms
• Familiarity with database concepts and experience with structured query language (SQL) to navigate them
• Experience or familiarity with the following technologies and patterns: Objective-C, Swift, XCTest, MVC, MVVM, Dependency Injection, Cocoapods, SPM, Alamofire, CI/CD tools
• Experience in a high-growth startup is a plus
