POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in planning and providing general direction to the conduct of the Permanent Fund Endowment which includes the care and custody of funds and other financial assets, money manager selection and evaluation through consistent communication and due diligence review. Assist in management of the Permanent Fund Endowment Asset Allocation in collaboration with the Tribe's investment advisors and the Director of Investments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



1. Under direction from the Director of Investments, monitor performance results for investments, requiring engagement with personnel associated with those entities to obtain pertinent information and follow-up with them to investigate and understand the activities reflected by such information.

2. Provide initial screening of investment proposals and conduct due diligence research both independently and in association with investment advisors.

3. Monitor custody of and be accountable for all cash, securities, and financial assets of the Permanent Fund Endowment.

4. Review the cash position of the Permanent Fund Endowment to provide required liquidity to the Permanent Fund based on the provisions of the Financial Plan.

5. Maintain relationships with outside financial entities including, money managers, investment advisors, custodians, and others including corresponding with these communicating investment objectives.

6. Monitor general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact or potential impact on the Permanent Fund Endowment.

7. Assist in the preparation and issuance of externally or internally required reports (i.e., weekly investment summary, Annual Audit, Tribal Annual Report, rating agencies, etc.)

8. Prepare investment analysis and due diligence updates for all current investment managers on a regular basis.

9. Participate in the valuation process as it relates to Permanent Fund Investments and support accounting personnel with respect to the annual audit including evaluating portfolios as they relate to determinations about valuation and impairments.

10. Respond to requests from the Director of Investments and Chief Financial Officer in a timely manner.

11. Ensure the confidentiality of all investment related information.

12. Participate in a positive, supportive, and team-oriented environment.

13. Perform other related duties and assignments as requested by the Director of Investments.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Must have a BA/BS in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a closely related field.

Must have 2 years of experience in investment research and analysis, investment management, investment banking, or closely related and relevant field.

Must have experience in and command of the "vocabulary of investment" supported by a solid understanding of various investment principles, terms and quantitative measures.

Must show demonstrated knowledge of traditional (equity and fixed income) and alternative investments (hedge funds, risk parity strategies, smart beta strategies and other illiquid investment opportunities).

Must have experience developing and delivering effective written and oral presentations.

Must have computer experience including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Must have a valid Driver's License for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.

Must pass a thorough criminal history background check and pre-employment drug test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Experience in investment analysis for a public pension, foundation, endowment, family office, investment consultant, RIA, or corporate pension plan.

Advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, CFA or CPA (or progress towards such) or another relevant subject.

Experience in working with endowment spending policy or pension liability driven investing.

TERO preference.
