Example of Duties:
The Investigations Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the investigative team by:
Managing intake and triage of complaints and referrals
Conducting preliminary research and data collection
Drafting correspondence and reports
Maintaining case files and databases
Managing disciplinary action compliance and contested cases
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with confidentiality and legal standards
The Supervisor position will provide:
Operational Oversight: Ensure that support staff are aligned with investigative priorities and deadlines.
Quality Assurance: Regular review of work products and processes will improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Staff Development: The supervisor will provide onboarding, training, and professional development tailored to the unique demands of investigative support.
Workload Management: Centralized oversight will allow for equitable distribution of tasks and timely response to urgent matters.
Strategic Alignment: The supervisor will serve as a liaison between support staff and investigative leadership, ensuring that administrative functions support strategic goals.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor
Direct supervision of Investigations Support Specialists
Assignment and prioritization of support tasks
Quality control of documentation, data entry, and correspondence
Development and implementation of standard operating procedures
Performance appraisals and coaching
Coordination with Investigations Program Manager and investigative staff
Oversight of case management and data integrity
Support for special projects and audits
Minimum Qualifications:
Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation
Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures
Minimum Qualification Specialties:
Reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Good knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding the confidentiality and safeguarding of citizen and governmental information
Using computer systems, software, and databases for information entry and retrieval
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervising staff; providing customer service; leading or facilitating teams or groups
Compiling and analyzing information and/or data and writing reports and/or correspondence in a work setting
Experience developing and evaluating policies, procedures, training, and presentation materials
