Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Counter specializing in Retail Inventory Control to join our dynamic supply chain and logistics team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of inventory data across retail locations. Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical counts of retail inventory across multiple locations, ensuring precise data collection and recording. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 to update inventory records accurately. Analyze inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis and collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to resolve issues promptly. Support demand planning and stock replenishment processes by providing accurate inventory insights. Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile physical stock with system records to maintain data integrity. Use data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau to generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and trends. Collaborate with logistics providers, including 3PL partners, to coordinate shipping & receiving activities and ensure timely order fulfillment. Support procurement activities by providing insights into stock levels, pricing strategies, and supplier performance. Conduct data mining and analysis using SQL and other analytics tools to identify patterns, forecast demand, and optimize stocking strategies. Assist with materials handling tasks requiring heavy lifting or forklift operation while adhering to safety standards. Contribute to overall retail management efforts by supporting merchandising initiatives, materials management, and contract compliance.

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or retail stock control roles. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, logistics operations, and warehouse distribution processes. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP, and data analytics tools including Power BI, Tableau, SQL. Knowledge of procurement practices, sourcing strategies, category management, and negotiation techniques. Familiarity with demand planning software like MRP systems for production planning and inventory control. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. Hands-on experience operating forklifts or heavy lifting equipment preferred; safety certifications are a plus. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments involving shipping & receiving activities. Strong data collection skills combined with proficiency in data visualization for reporting purposes. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including merchandising, logistics, procurement, and retail management. Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in physical counts and digital records.
