Inventory Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage

Category: Salaried Year Round

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000

Summary:

The Inventory Coordinator oversees the inventory of products in the F&B commissary at Icy Strait Point in Hoonah, Alaska. The ideal candidate must have efficient organization and communication skills, as most duties include inventorying products from multiple vendors. Food and Beverage receiving deals with time sensitive products which require accurate and proactive control of inventory. Additionally, the Inventory Coordinator will take on different tasks such as record keeping of departments shipments, pushing invoices through the system, and helping the receiving coordinator with, stocking shelves, inspecting product being received for damage and/or spoilage, and keeping the warehouse area clean and tidy. Working side by side with the Food & Beverage and management staff will also be required to maintain adequate stock levels at three restaurants, one large food tour, and several smaller food establishments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will ensure accurate record keeping in our inventory systems.

• Entering recipes in the system
• Updating pricing as required
• Ensure mapping is accurate from POS system into inventory systems.
• Ensure invoices are processed correctly so accountants can pay, and theoretical food cost/inventories remain accurate throughout the month.
• Maintain accurate and organized paperwork of department shipments.
• Work with the Receiving Coordinator to ensure credits, etc. are accurate on the invoices.
• Maintain organized storerooms for both dry goods and kitchen goods with the assistance and coordination of the receiving coordinator.
• Work with the receiving coordinator to ensure that deliveries are inspected and credited for damage or defects.
• Verified shipments information against the bill of lading.
• Supervisor employees in the commissary on heavy freight days when needed.
• Jump in on the line in any location if needed due to volume of business.
• Assist the Director and management on accuracy of monthly inventory counts.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Microsoft 360 software knowledge
• General PC knowledge
• 5 plus years line cook experience

Preferred Skills

• Yellow dog or similar inventory systems
• General knowledge of warehouse organization, inventory, palatalization, and receiving practices.
• Fork-lift operator certified (will train if not currently certified)
• Ability to safely drive ~25,000lb box truck.
• OSHA warehouse safety knowledge

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Willing to live in a remote, rural community.
• Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
• Able to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.
