Looking to do meaningful work helping others in the community as an independently contracted Interpreter?

The Contractor Interpreter position will work as an independent contractor performing interpreting services for clients in a Behavioral Health setting. Appointments will be prearranged and set up with you as well as the client. Service may take place in the office, over telehealth, in the client\xe2\x80\x99s home, or a designated area within the community.

Expected pay range $25/hr \xe2\x80\x93 Depending on Experience

POSITION OVERVIEW AND GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • The Independent Contracted Interpreters are responsible for maintaining functions within the scope of practice from the Idaho Office for Refugees and internal training.
  • Nature of Services. Pathways shall hire a Contracted Interpreter to provide Interpretive Services to the children, adults, and families served by Pathways. The scope of services requires the Contracted Interpreter to:
  • Provide Consultation by interpreting/transliterating services for clients, employees, and other individuals for meetings, interviews, telephone calls, etc. including one-to-one services, group settings, and usually used in service with clients, located in the community, business settings, smaller meetings, or at a pre-designated location in the field.
  • Understand and accept the responsibility to provide continuous care via regularly scheduled appointments to the clients assigned.
  • Agree to maintain the highest level of personal and professional ethics while under contract with Pathways.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Interfaces routinely with community resources, clients, the Interpreter Services Program Coordinator along with other administrative staff on an as-needed basis.
  • Interpreters will uphold confidentially while facilitating communication between service providers and clients. Interpreters will maintain confidentiality of all client contact information, electronic and/or verbal form.
  • Will respond quickly to the Interpreter Services Program Coordinator if contacted involving job responsibilities, assignments, and weekly billing. This communication channel will be through email as well as telephone.
  • There will need to be open communication with the Interpreter Services Program Coordinator involving conflicts of interest within their interpreting scope of practice.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
  • Certified Medical Interpreters (CMI), preferred but not required
  • Must pass a criminal background check conducted by the DHW.
  • Proof of: valid ID driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to speak fluently in English as well as the language they are interpreting for. A reliable form of transportation and proof of car insurance. Reliability and having the skill to set and keep boundaries with clients are required qualifications upon hire for this position.
