Position Title

International Academic Advisor

Job Duties

The International Academic Advisor provides students who are on F-1 visa status with academic and international advising. This position also handles Designated School Official (DSO) responsibilities, career planning and retention services to present and potential international students.

Salary range is $55,391 - $73,091 p/yr.

Qualifications

Required knowledge and skills

A. Strong interpersonal communication skills.

B. Knowledge of needs of diverse student population.

C. Knowledge of SEVP and F-1 visa regulations.

D. Organizational skills and ability to keep track of detailed information.

E. Ability to use computer to access student records.

F. Ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the entire division

G. Strong knowledge base in career and occupational information.

Required experience

A. Minimum of 1 year experience in international or academic advising.

B. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for this role.

C. Previous experience in teaching is preferred.

Required educational background

Master's degree required. Prefer background in student services or related field.
