About the Role:



As an Internal Sales Associate, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You'll design, analyze, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and exceed expectations. The Internal Sales Associate position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Inside Sales and will be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.

Conduct proactive marketing calls and handle inbound territory calls focusing on all levels of sales (acquisition, development and retention) Execute effective territory management to increase sales and firm penetration Partner with wholesaler to formulate, implement and execute a business plan and sales strategy Support firm's objectives and goals (Call campaigns, territory initiatives and partnerships, focus firms) Convey sales ideas, disseminate accurate product information, gather marketing data and profile investment professionals Listen, probe, uncover and analyze needs and recognize potential sales/service opportunities Initiate regular, frequent and effective communication with wholesaler and sales management Deliver effective presentations and occasionally travel with wholesaler to obtain "real-time" client exposure and sales experience Provide sales support to investment professionals and wholesalers in a multi-channel distribution environment Take ownership and resolve problems by gathering, analyzing, pursuing appropriate course of action, and following up when necessary Recommend appropriate sales tools (literature, marketing materials, etc.) Document all conversations with all investment professionals in CRM application Efficient utilization of internal and technical resources as well as desktop technology Partner with service and administrative associates to provide the highest level of support to investment professionals Effectively prioritize and complete required tasks and demonstrate appropriate sense of urgency Enhance product/industry knowledge and build solid understanding of internal business process flow Demonstrate professionalism, apply constructive feedback and participate in training Continuously refine and improve sales skills and pursue professional development Understand, meet and exceed territorial, departmental, divisional and corporate objectives Contribute to continuous improvement of departmental performance; initiate appropriate project activity Make sound business decisions in terms of prioritizing and managing workload, thus planning day accordingly Adhere to Security Benefit Distributors' policies & procedures/performance standards & criteria

What We're Looking For:



Bachelor's degree required; concentration in marketing or business is preferred Experience in the financial or investment management industry is preferred Series 6 (or 7), 63 and Life License, or obtained within 90 days of hire 2 years experience in sales/marketing is preferred Computer proficiency Self-confident and detailed oriented Team player, positive attitude and committed Able to learn quickly, retain knowledge and communicate complex ideas and concepts Demonstrates integrity with strong work ethic Highly motivated to succeed; welcomes challenges; pursues self-development Student of the market; demonstrate a passion for the business Aggressive drive to succeed Sales ability - convincing, persuasive, and credible; thinks quickly on feet and professional appearance Effective one on one communication skills; interpersonal flexibility & functional intelligence Resilient; able to overcome adversity, maintains a positive outlook Initiative/resourcefulness; actively seeks opportunities to contribute Hard worker, reliable
