Summary:

As a Financial Services Intern, you will work with Plexus Financial Services, LLC advisors to learn more about the corporate retirement plan field. You will gain valuable real-world work experience from a Corporate Retirement Plan Advisory Group with a national presence and an international reach. You will learn about retirement plan and employee benefit trends for organizations ranging from 20 to 5,000 employees across all industries. You will work with seasoned Client Managers and Vice Presidents on managing client questions, sales and marketing, service support, and investment reviews along with participant education.

The Plexus Groupe summer internship program will run from early June through early August 2024. Our intern cohort will work across various departments on team projects and cross-functional intern initiatives. Exact dates will be posted as we get closer to spring.

Each summer, Plexus nominates one intern, from our summer intern cohort, who will have the opportunity to participate in the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers\xe2\x80\x99 (CIAB) scholarship program, to win a monetary award towards their college education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide support to the Financial Advisor for the corporate retirement plans and participants they serve.
• Prepare forms, reports, correspondence, and arrange FA directed marketing campaigns as well as provide requests for research.
• Establish and maintain files to meet the firm\'s regulatory requirements, create and produce reports, system administration, and support efforts to service and grow client relationships.
• Projects and tasks will be assigned to provide hands on experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree program is required. Majors in Insurance, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Candidates should be entering their junior or senior year of college.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Be a self-starter.
• Possesses analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Learns quickly.
• Enjoys teamwork and cultivating relationships.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Has work experience demonstrating strong technical and / or client service skills
• Has a passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client.
• Possesses excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with intermediate knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to perform primarily sedentary work, frequently using a computer (visual acuity, fine motor skills) and telephone (talking/hearing)
• Read, write, and communicate effectively
• Ability to lift and carry client files
• Handle the physical demands of travel

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time temporary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
