Job Summary
Interior Designer needed for luxury residential and commercial projects across New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.
The Interior Designer will lead the design, planning, and implementation of upscale interior spaces--creating environments that reflect quality, comfort, and individual client style. The position involves collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to develop design concepts, select materials and furnishings, prepare specifications and documentation, and oversee installations for high-end homes, estates, and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
Project Design & Planning: Develop interior concepts, space plans, and construction documents for residential and commercial projects.
Client Collaboration: Consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, and budget, translating vision into actionable design solutions.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with architects, property owners, engineers, and contractors to ensure project integration and high standards of execution.
Material & FF&E Selection: Specify furnishings, finishes, artwork, lighting, and window treatments to achieve desired results and functionality.
Budgeting & Procurement: Manage project budgets, source materials and furnishings, and oversee purchasing and delivery processes.
Permit & Code Compliance: Ensure interior designs adhere to local building codes, ADA requirements, and other regulatory standards.
Construction Oversight: Visit project sites during installation, provide design clarifications, and ensure craftsmanship and accuracy match the design plan.
Presentations: Prepare and deliver design presentations and client updates, communicating design intent clearly and effectively.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or related field.
Experience: 4+ years in luxury residential and/or commercial interior design. Experience leading high-end installations in NY, CT, or NJ preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and design software; knowledge of interior construction and detailing.
Communication: Excellent visual, oral, and written communication skills for client interaction, presentations, and team coordination.
Project Management: Skilled at handling project timelines, budgets, and documentation for multiple projects.
Creativity & Detail: Strong sense of style and composition; attention to detail; ability to problem-solve and innovate.
