The Family Center of Maine is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate

Intake Specialist

to join our team! In this role, you will be the first point of contact for new potential patients, guiding them through the intake process, verifying insurance, and scheduling them with one of our skilled therapists.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking mental health services. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility. Collect and input patient information with accuracy and confidentiality. Schedule new patients with appropriate therapists based on their needs and availability. Communicate with patients, therapists, and insurance providers to ensure a smooth intake process. Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in a medical or mental health office setting preferred. Knowledge of insurance verification and scheduling systems a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay:

$20-$22 per hour, based on experience.
