This is a full-time direct service position in the Madison Area Residential Houses. Group intervention programming must be delivered in a secular manner free of religious components, following the agency prescribed curriculum. The person in this position will be responsible for Intake Coordination duties for clients entering the Madison Area Residential Services Programs. These duties will require a high level of communication and cooperation with the RSP Case Managers and Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation & Parole Agents and Liaison Agents, and prospective RSP clients.
The person in this position is responsible for providing group Cognitive Skills interventions (Thinking for a Change and/or Carey Guides groups), Moral Recognition Therapy groups, and/or group role-plays and job search activities associated with the Employment group to adult correctional clients who are enrolled in the ACS Residential Services Program. This person will collaborate with the Treatment Team regarding client participation in groups.
The person in this position provides Behavioral Support services as needed, maintaining safety in the facility, making security rounds when required, and interacting with clients on an informal basis throughout the house while maintain therapeutic boundaries and professional ethics.
The Intake Coordinator/Group Facilitator screens and responds to DOC referrals for RSP services, coordinates placements, and corresponds with all parties regarding RSP services, eligibility, and availability. The Intake Coordinator/Group Facilitator develops, maintains, and updates client files in the SecurManage system, writes daily progress notes, generates required reports, and develops discharge summaries related to the group services delivered. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining all professional credentials.
Facilitate treatment groups utilizing the prescribed curricula. This will include group Cognitive Skills interventions (Thinking for a Change and/or Carey Guides), Moral recognition Therapy groups, or group role-plays and job search activities associated with the Employment group.
Evaluate client participation and document their treatment progress in their electronic chart using Progress Notes and complete discharge/termination summaries in a timely manner consistent with DHS standards.
provide direct support and treatment services to clients so they can achieve their overall Case Plan goals, participate in a risk-level-appropriate amount of treatment, and improve general pro-social functioning
Implement motivational interviewing techniques
Introduce clients to problem-identification and -solving techniques
Use cultural awareness and dexterity in delivering interventions
Employ cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques responsive to anti-social behaviors and problems
Deliver evidence-based treatment
Recommend referrals to other community services/agencies as needed.
Maintain communication with co-workers, supervisor, and DOC regarding client behaviors, treatment progress and incident reports.
Maintain client files and adhere to all laws, policies, and rules regarding confidentiality.
