Evaluate and process auto insurance claims in accordance with policy provisions and company guidelines.
Maintain regular communication with insured clients, agents, and claimants throughout each stage of the process.
Document claim details, communications, and status updates accurately in the internal system.
Review reports, estimates, and supporting evidence to determine appropriate claim handling.
Update reserves, request inspections, and coordinate expert assessments when needed.
Prepare summaries of repair costs and claim evaluations.
Negotiate fair settlements and coordinate claim closure with all involved parties.
Authorize payments and finalize files following established procedures.
Escalate suspicious or irregular cases to the Special Investigations Unit.
Ensure that compliance documentation and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time.
Monitor and track claim extensions filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
Meet department performance targets and uphold service quality standards.
Contribute to team initiatives and support additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of experience in insurance adjusting; or Associate's degree with four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
Valid Puerto Rico Insurance Adjuster License (required).
Proficiency in Spanish; working knowledge of English preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
Proven ability to manage multiple claims efficiently and meet deadlines.
Comfortable using computer systems, data entry tools, and digital communication platforms.
Additional licenses or certifications may be required depending on the assigned line of business.
