Insulation Crew Leader

Job Description

Lead crew of insulators who will be responsible for installing insulation in residential homes. Must be capable and have experience blowing insulation into attics, airsealing attic floors, installing baffles, and removing existing insulation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Reads job description or scope of work and loads proper materials for that job. Loads and unloads insulation materials. Drive box truck with crew members to jobsite. Make necessary preparations for installation process at jobsite by unloading equipment and placing items in location of installation. Installs insulation in attics, walls, ceilings or where customer has requested and follows scope of work. Installs and / or replaces insulation in buildings or residential homes Monitors the amount of material that are used to ensure proper insulation. Clears and disposes of old insulation according to established safety guidelines, if necessary. Measures and cuts insulation to fit into walls, ceilings, and around pipes or other areas needing insulation. Fastens insulation in place with tape, screws, wire supports, staples, or fasteners as needed. Transports needed tools and equipment to jobsite. Follows company and industry safety guidelines and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Survey jobsite before leaving to ensure that all company tools and equipment are picked up, returned to the truck and cleaned up for the next use.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of insulation materials and ability to determine best material for a project. Able to work as a team or with others in close proximity. Ability to follow instructions. Will be required to wear a supplied air or cartridge filter respirator throughout the application process depending on the type of product used. Ability to use hand tools and power tools to install insulation. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Excellent communication skills. Reliable transportation to and from work.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Related experience preferred. Driver's License preferred. Bi-lingual a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing, bending, or climbing ladders, also often must reach above their heads to fit and fasten insulation into place. Ability to work in confined spaces. Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
