Cimarron is seeking experienced Technicians with an electrical/instrumentation background to support the development of an OEM rocket tank located in Decatur, AL.
For candidates not local to the Decatur area, Cimarron will cover Per Diem at the government rate for lodging and meals. Key Duties:
- Interpret instrumentation drawings provided by the customer.
- Install strain gauge sensors on a ground test article propellant tank within accordance of the instrumentation drawings.
- Inspect strain gages to ensure they are in good health.
- Solder & route wires to and from strain gages.
- Perform continuity testing to ensure the gages are soldered correctly.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged gages that may arise.
- Document work performed for each day.
- Coordinate with management to establish work priorities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, & organized work environment.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Ability to pass a physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements.
- Previous experience with soldering small components.
- Basic understanding of the purpose of strain gauges.
- Previous experience in cable routing/management.
- Ability to interpret 3D engineering drawings.
- General shop skills including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and contamination control.
- Knowledge and proficiency in a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, meters, calipers, and multimeters.
- Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in an agile environment.
- General knowledge of production quality systems and requirements in daily operations.
- Well versed in safety regulations including detecting, reporting, and correcting safety issues.
- Able to work any assigned shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formally trained in strain gauge installation.
- Experience conducting wire harness installation tests including di-electric withstanding insulation, insulation resistance, and continuity.
- Knowledge in lean manufacturing principles and methods and the ability to apply knowledge to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
- Previous electrical and wire harness certification to NASA standard NASA-STD-8739.4.
