Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for a part-time Dance Instructor specializing in Adaptive Instruction for evening classes. Approximately 1-5 hours per week.
Regularly Scheduled Group Dance Lessons

Private Dance Lessons

Additional hours for special events/programs
Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Dance or Dance Education from an accredited institution or have related work or performance experience equivalent to such a degree. Graduate experience is a plus. Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience working as a Dance Instructor/Teacher. Applicants with knowledge in one or more of the following styles are preferred: ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, and acrobatics. Applicants must also have experience working with adaptive students.
Responsibilities include:
Create lessons, plan, prepare and instruct group/private lessons
Attend end of the dance season dress rehearsal and recital
Candidates for this position will work closely with the Dance Department Coordinator and must be able to work with students of all ages and skill levels, with a specific focus on preschool and school-aged children. Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom and may be the lead instructor during rehearsals. In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to work in a team environment.
This position offers a starting rate from $28.00/hour. Compensation will be determined based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience.
