JOB SUMMARY

: Under the direction of a licensed staff member, assist students by helping individuals or small groups of students with basic curriculum work, implementing programming, reinforcing learning skills, and reinforcing discipline procedures. Assist classroom teachers by preparing classroom materials, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement. Safely using tools (both hand and power), measuring, cutting, building, planning etc. Assignments include Automotive and Aviation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist classroom teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, attendance, etc. Assist with paperwork and documentation as needed.

Assist students with classroom activities. Assist with curriculum delivery to both individuals and small groups to ensure mastering of subjects.

Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher, including typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, taking inventory, scheduling repairs and maintenance, data entry, word processing, laminating, ordering supplies, placing phone calls, materials distribution, and light bookkeeping.

Assist with other classroom events, such as field trips or fire drills, as necessary.


Monthly 5%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma No professional work experience required For Automotive assignment, ASE Student certificate G1 and SP2 safety certifications For Aviation assignment, FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Intermediate oral and written communication skills Intermediate interpersonal relations skills Intermediate organizational skills Ability to work alone and with others Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students Ability to promote a positive climate, culture, and community

Associate's degree Classroom/instructional work in an educational setting, licensed teaching, or transportation industry experience Experience working in the public sector Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement * Completion of Automotive MLR II or higher OR completion of Airframe and/or Powerplant studies at the CCIC or other part 147 school
