This position is responsible for supervising Workforce Continuing Education instructors at assigned location with the aid of Deans, Department Heads, and Directors.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)
Oversees and supervises the department's adjunct instructors and classes at assigned locations across Wake County. May also supervise administrative support staff positions.
Ensures that class records for Workforce Continuing Education courses are completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
Evaluates instructors by observation, class visitations, instructional delivery and student evaluations
Work closely with state and local agencies and licensing boards to understand and enforce compliance
Recruits, selects, and evaluates qualified instructors for various prospective Workforce Continuing Education classes
Orients part-time Curriculum and/or Workforce Continuing Education instructors to college procedures and administrative matters
Ensures all instructors receive textbooks, duplication, audio-visual, and administrative support
Performs needs assessments and develops Workforce Continuing Education classes to meet community needs
Assists in developing class promotional material such as bulletins and fliers; promotes the College and recruits students at educational fairs and functions
Responds to instructor, student, and site coordinator concerns and questions and serves as a liaison between the student, instructor, site coordinator and the college administration
Performs administrative duties such as but not limited to student registration, posting and distributing class schedules and room assignments, schedule change forms, generating contracts and maintain accurate material inventory
Provide back up support to other Instructional Supervisors as necessary
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to travel daily to a variety of sites within Wake County
Intermediate skills in MS Office products
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize time-sensitive requirements
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills
Thorough understanding of adult education principles
Ability to formulate teaching and learning objectives and oversee the development of Workforce Continuing Education courses
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, training or a related area OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of supervisory experience
Valid NC drivers license and approval by the College's liability insurance carrier
Must pass Department of Public Safety background check and attend applicable Department of Public Safety training
Preferences:
Master's Degree
Experience in vocational training or education
Experience in business and industry
