We are a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities, and we're currently seeking Instructional Aides for our Adult Day Program. This program supports participants aged 18-30 with various disabilities. At Mychal's Learning Place, we provide life skills training, social skills training, and employment opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of participants both onsite and in the community
Travel off-site to local businesses for job training and participant support
Provide transportation to participants using company vehicles for job training and community events
Support participants in training at our social enterprises
Assist with behavior support, prompting, and positive reinforcement as needed
Help set appropriate long and short-term goals for participants based on assessments
Provide emotional regulation support to participants
Learn and adapt to new procedures and program needs
Conduct travel training via public transportation
Record and submit documentation on participants' progress in daily living and job training skills
Help design individual activity plans and modify them as needed
Assist in implementing special events and commit to at least one special event shift per year (paid)
Attend all in-services and required staff meetings
Assist with all aspects of instruction
Develop and instruct daily/weekly lessons on various life and vocational skills, including meal planning, cooking, grocery shopping, exercise, housekeeping, first aid, community safety, money management, emotional regulation, communication, personal hygiene, job etiquette, and job-specific skills
Ensure good standards of hygiene, regularly check equipment safety, prepare designated areas, and clean up after each session in compliance with health and safety legislation
Maintain a professional image in the community and with parents
Assist with additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old (required)
Ideal for those pursuing a career in special education, psychology, teaching, or human services
Experience with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred
Minimum of a High School Diploma or beginning GED courses (required)
Available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM for program hours, plus additional hours for lesson prep and staff meetings (maximum 2 hours per week) and optional additional hours for social enterprise support
Excellent communication and writing skills (required)
Clearance from the Department of Justice via Live Scan Fingerprinting (required)
Clearance via Health Screening Report and Tuberculosis (TB) test (required)
Current CPR and First Aid certifications within the last 12 months (required)
Minimum 1-year commitment
