Summary:
Receive, investigate and respond to all customer inquiries regarding shipments, products, and customer concerns. Complete assigned outbound sales calls. Input/upload orders and relative data into our company ERP system.
Role and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Handle customer concerns in a professional manner
Communicate with customers concerning orders, returns, shipments and products
Call customers to advise shipments delay and/or information necessary to process orders
Manage and maintain open customer orders and customer profile information
Support product service and warranty as needed
Initiate sale of existing and new products as well as additional services offered
Share customer feedback with manager
May recommend alternative products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
Provide additional support such as maintaining literature and promotional materials, billing on directs, and ordering displays, possible product procurement responsibilities, etc.
Plans and paces own work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, customer, or team related productivity goals. Will periodically review and revise the approved goals. Effectively uses customer service to promote greater product penetration and higher service levels.
Partners with our Safety Department and Operations Leadership to promote and ensure a safe work environment and ensure all safety precautions are met.
Support walk-in customers with product selection and orders
Periodically makes "face-to-face" calls on accounts to improve and strengthen the business relationship, solicit marketing information, settle complaints, or to determine sales potential. May also attend on and off-premises business-related functions such as company product shows, dealer/contractor meetings, association events, training sessions, mill tours, etc.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Prompt and reliable attendance.
Education Requirements:
Position requires a High School diploma or GED; prefers an associate's degree in business, sales, or related field, two or more years of experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
The individual must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills as well as proven customer service. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational, negotiating and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks and interact with others in a professional manner. Individual must be able to have experience in supporting and facilitating the sales process. Must have proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of the Building/Construction Industry a plus
