As an Information Technology Specialist I you will have the opportunity to:

Serve as a technical administrator over DTSC's Microsoft Windows server environment Support Microsoft products including Windows Server, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Active Directory and logon scripts Oversee the administration and optimization of server and storage performance, ensuring compliance and security via regularly scheduled patching and maintenance, conduct capacity planning activities, and proactively keep management informed of status and issues Coordinate the testing and validation of production applications and infrastructure software following routine patching and maintenance Work closely and productively with the Enterprise Architect and other IT analysts to support DTSC technical architecture Monitor the DTSC environment for network or telecommunications security issues and provides technical support to the DTSC Information Security Officer (ISO) with identification, remediation and prevention of intrusion, malware, or phishing attacks Troubleshoot technical issues that negatively impact the performance of business applications and network operating systems

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:

Special Requirements


A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required for the hiring manager's review. Applications submitted without an SOQ may be disqualified.

The SOQ should be a no more than 1-page in length, eleven (11) point Arial font, and single spaced.

Your SOQ should address the following:


1. Describe your experience managing and administering server environments. Include the tools you have used, specific responsibilities in maintaining performance, reliability, and security.

2. Provide an example of a complex issue you diagnosed and resolved. Explain the approach, tools, or methods used, as well as the outcome or lessons learned.

3. Explain a time where you implemented improvement, automation, or process enhancement. Describe the problem, the solution, and the measurable impact it had on operations or service delivery.
