What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either the Information Specialist 2 or Information Specialist 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level. This position will be stationed in Mercury, Nevada.

Information Specialist 2 ($67,800 - $107,700)
The Document Control and Records Management Group is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide document control and records management support. The selected candidate will ensure availability of current work control documents to enable operations and programmatic work and will ensure records of Laboratory activities are preserved.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the procedure lifecycle process, including initiation, review, and issuance
- Maintaining and making available project planning and execution documentation
- Processing programmatic and operations documents and records
- Identifying and applying retention policy to records
- Coordinating the release of information and/or records in accordance with established procedures
- Processing incoming and outgoing documents/records, managing document/record reviews, and tracking actions to closure
- Ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and standards
- Providing customer support for DCRM applications
- Providing guidance and recommendations to customer organizations on procedures and processes
- Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
- Resolving issues or challenges associated with managing information in unclassified or classified environment
- Implement or contribute to the implementation of a Document Control and/or Records Management (DCRM) program for new customers or organizations

The successful candidate must be results and performance oriented with a track record of dependability, adaptability, and strong customer service skills. The candidate must be highly motivated.

Information Specialist 3 ($81,700 - $133,100)
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level, you will:
- Be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate completion of the document control process and supporting the Team Leader with work management and team performance assurance activities.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated understanding of or experience working in a Document Control and/or Records Management (DCRM) program
- Basic understanding of DCRM regulations and drivers
- Proven ability to develop positive customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Wide range of computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, network drives, and/or DCRM-specific applications
- Ability to use judgement and conduct research to recommend solutions to issues or problems within established scope
- Ability to use judgement and experience to recommend solutions to issues or problems
- Ability to follow detailed instructions to perform major elements of DCRM and related programs/policies
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and concise communications
- Experience implementing or supporting a Document Control and/or Records Management (DCRM) program
- Demonstrated understanding of DCRM regulations and drivers
- Experience in implementing detailed instructions to perform major elements of DCRM and related programs/policies

Additional Job Requirements for Information Specialist 3:
In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:

- Wide-ranging experience developing and implementing a Document Control and/or Records Management (DCRM) programs that integrate with other related programs, i.e., engineering, nuclear safety.
- Demonstrated understanding of DCRM methods to ensure compliance.
- Experience developing policy, procedures, or detailed instructions to perform major elements of DCRM and related programs/policies.
- Ability to oversee day-to-day activities of a DCRM team.
- Understanding of performance metrics collection, analysis, and presentation

Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a minimum 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education, certification, or experience directly related to the occupation.

Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor\'s degree and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in an NQA-1 or similarly regulated environment.
- Experience using Documentum or PDMLink applications.
- Experience working in a configuration management environment.

Location:
This position has a permanent duty station at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) located in Mercury, Nevada, approximately 60 miles north of Las Vegas, NV. The selected candidate will be expected to relocate to Nevada within 6 months of start date. Extensions to the relocation timeline may be submitted to the hiring manager for consideration.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) located in Mercury, Nevada. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
