About Pearlite Montessori Home

Pearlite Montessori Home is a small, nurturing, and authentic Montessori environment dedicated to fostering independence, lifelong learning, and a deep sense of community in children from 2months through the Primary years. We believe in following the child and providing a carefully prepared environment that empowers students and staff alike. We are seeking passionate and dedicated educators to join our collaborative team across all age levels.

The Opportunity

We are currently hiring for certified and experienced educators for the following roles:

Infant Guide (Ages 2 months - 18 months)

Toddler Guide (Ages 18 months - 2.5 years)

Primary/Preschool Teacher (Ages 2.5 - 5 years)

Key Responsibilities by Role

All candidates must demonstrate a deep commitment to the Montessori philosophy, possess strong observation skills, and maintain a calm, supportive, and engaging classroom presence.

Infant Guide (Ages 2-18 months)

Foster a secure attachment with each infant, prioritizing their emotional and physical well-being. Prepare and maintain a Nido(Infant environment) focused on sensory exploration and gross motor development Document daily observations regarding communication, movement, and feeding/sleep patterns. Communicate warmly and professionally with parents about the child's daily experiences and developmental milestones.
Toddler Guide (Ages 18 months - 2.5 years)

Support the child's burgeoning independence through rigorous Practical Life lessons (pouring, sweeping, dressing). Guide the

language explosion

through songs, rich vocabulary, and sound games. Aid in the process of

toilet independence

with patience and consistency, focusing on the child's readiness. Maintain a safe, orderly, and beautiful Todes(Toddler environment) that respects the sensitive periods for movement and order.
Primary/Preschool Teacher (Ages 2.5-5 years)

Present the full, comprehensive Montessori curriculum (Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Culture, and Science). Conduct careful observations to link the child to materials appropriate for their developmental stage. Create and maintain individualized learning plans and conduct parent conferences focused on objective observations. Facilitate Grace and Courtesy lessons to foster a cooperative and respectful classroom community.
Qualifications

Required:

Minimum of High school diploma At least

2 years

of professional experience working with the specific age group being applied for. Commitment to continuous professional development and training. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.

Highly Preferred:

Montessori certification for the specific age level (Infant/Toddler/Primary). Experience with the

full three-year cycle

in a Montessori environment. Familiarity with Maine state licensing regulations and the MRTQ standards.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range:

[

$20- $24

] per hour (Commensurate with experience and certification level).

Paid Time Off (PTO):

paid time off plus paid holidays after 3 months
