Job Description

Tank and Pipe Insulators are skilled tradespeople responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation on storage tanks, piping systems, and related industrial equipment. Their work is essential for thermal efficiency, energy conservation, and personnel protection in facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, and power stations.

Key Responsibilities:



Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine insulation requirements.

Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials to tanks, pipes, valves, and fittings of various sizes and configurations.

Apply insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, mineral wool, foam) using adhesives, mechanical fasteners, or wire mesh.

Install protective jacketing (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel) to shield insulation from environmental and mechanical damage.

Remove or replace old or damaged insulation, following safety and environmental protocols.

Ensure insulation systems are sealed and weatherproof to prevent moisture intrusion and maintain thermal integrity.

Work at heights, in confined spaces, or in extreme temperatures while adhering to strict safety standards.

Apply caulking to seal gaps and joints in structures.

Utilize airless paint spraying techniques for finishing work as needed.

Perform trim carpentry tasks, ensuring precise measurements and cuts.

Engage in metal stud framing for wall assemblies as required.

Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time.

Conduct quality checks on insulation installations to ensure compliance with company standards.

Using hand or power tools or machines to fabricate, assemble, repair, and install insulation

Inspecting and assessing installations and conditions, and adjusting, repairing, or replacing insulation materials to ensure effective insulation

Collaborate with other trades and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications:



Experience with industrial insulation, especially on tanks, piping, or mechanical systems. Familiarity with insulation materials, tools, and installation techniques. Experience with scaffolding, rigging, or confined space entry
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.80 - $31.07 per hour
