Job Description

Our manufacturing company is growing rapidly and is hiring a mechanical foreman responsible for maintenance and operation of a dedicated production line. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal, and not complete list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all qualifications but have sufficient experience, work ethic, and talent.

Mechanical Foreman: skilled mechanical tradesperson will supervise and coordinate the daily operation and necessary repairs of production machines and work technicians in a manufacturing facility. This person performs repairs, and ensures industrial mechanical work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. This person follows safety regulations during preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and major mechanical repairs.

Primary Responsibility:

Equipment and Facility Management, Repair, and Parts Management:


Overseeing and performing the proper maintenance, use, and operation of mechanical machines, parts, materials, and equipment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Strong Industrial Mechanical Knowledge:

In-depth, hands-on understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and repair procedures. Specifically: automation programming, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, chains, gearboxes, motors, belting, fabrication, and general facility upkeep.

Leadership and Supervisory Skills:

Ability to lead, motivate, train, and manage a team effectively.

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with team members, outside contractors, supervisors, and managers. Work with production manager and supervisors on the best practices to get tasks done with minimal downtime.

Safety Awareness:

Thorough knowledge and following of manufacturing safety regulations, certifications, and best practices.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to plan, schedule, and manage work and parts inventory effectively. Procuring parts. Requisitions to be approved for purchasing items needed for repair and maintenance, estimate parts arrival to know how jobs should be prioritized. Have ability to drive to local fabrication shop or hardware store for parts pickup.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various work environments and heights. Lifting heavier objects safely may be required as needed. Able to operate and be certified with forklift and Genie boom lift.

Experience:

Relevant experience with mechanical repair, preventative maintenance schedules, metal work, welding, fabrication, and production processes will be required.

Education:

Bachelor's and/or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred: Electronics, Electrical, Automation, Engineering Technology, Engineering, Technical Vocational training in a relevant field is highly desired.
Supervision and Coordination

:

Work under the direction of the general manager; cooperate with production and facilities managers. Overseeing production teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standards. Identify and eliminate or report any wasteful practices

Safety Enforcement:


Conducting safety briefings, enforcing safety regulations, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Quality Control:


Monitoring and Inspecting completed work, ensuring it meets quality standards, and addressing any deficiencies or inconsistencies.

Technical Expertise:


Providing technical guidance and assistance to the team, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring proper use and maintenance of equipment. Computer skills required include but are not limited to Office, OneDrive, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.

Scheduling and Planning:


Implementing repair and work schedules, coordinating with other businesses, vendors, or departments, and managing materials and equipment.

Communication and Reporting:


Maintaining clear communication with management, supervisors, production team and other parties, and maintaining/preparing records on work progress and issues.

Training and Development:


Mentoring and training new employees and other team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
