We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern/Co-op to join our team. The intern will support process improvement initiatives, data analysis, and efficiency optimization projects under the guidance of experienced engineers. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real-world operations or manufacturing environment.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:

• Assist in analyzing workflows, production methods, and process layouts to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support time and motion studies to collect data and recommend improvements.
• Create or update process documentation, standard work instructions, and visual aids.
• Collect and analyze operational data using Excel, SQL, or other tools.
• Assist in capacity planning, production scheduling, and resource optimization.
• Present findings and recommendations to team leaders and stakeholders.

What You Will Learn:

• Learn and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events, or Six Sigma projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, logistics, etc.) to support ongoing improvement efforts.
• Learn and develop top findings and make recommendations to team leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (Junior or Senior level preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Power BI, SQL) is a plus.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
