Summary

This position will improve operational efficiencies throughout our distribution network by evaluating and improving systems, processes, and incorporating new technology. The implementation and maintenance of engineered labor standards is a primary responsibility to ensure the improvements are realized and carried forward.

Must Have: Warehouse & Labor Management System & Grocery Distribution Experience Required

Description of Work

• Process Improvement: Direct observations of warehouse operations, transportation, corporate departments to identify, evaluate, and implement more efficient processes through the use of technology or process change that bring bottom line financial savings to AWG.
• Engineered Labor Standards Creation and Maintenance for all AWG Distribution Centers: Includes setup, configuration, and maintenance of Red Prairie LM system, standards calculation sheet creation and maintenance, machine speed studies, creating preferred methods, time studies, work sampling studies, statistical analysis, warehouse education, union audits, travel
• Project Management: Manage various small to medium sized projects
• New Technology Research / Evaluating Alternatives: Finding new technologies that can be used to bring savings to AWG
• Increasing Industry Knowledge: Keeping up to speed on the latest trends, learning how other companies are solving similar problems that AWG is facing, etc.

Qualifications:

A variety of education, training, knowledge, abilities and experience needed.

Knowledge:

• 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited school.

Abilities:

• Relationship building
• Presentation skills
• Ability to defend your position when challenged while also being open to other perspectives and ideas
• Effectively communicate complex information to others in a digestible manner
• Must be able to relate to and converse with the operators on the floor up through to senior level management.

Experience and Training:

• 0-2 years professional experience.
• Some type of formal "time study" training.
• Must be competent with spreadsheets, statistics, complex decision making, performing time studies, and building standards calc sheets.
• Working Environment: Warehouse Distribution Center Environment
• Must be able to work nontraditional hours as needed (before and after normal office hours and weekends).
• Willing to Travel on a regular basis up to 70% at times during major projects.
